Quadient announced that it had surpassed a major locker milestone, with its Parcel Pending by Quadient network now exceeding 3,000 locations across the UK, as demand for out of home (OOH) deliveries continues to accelerate.

Demand for lockers isn’t just borne out of consumers’ demands for convenient pick up and drop off (PUDO) locations; 59% of shoppers now want the flexibility to manage parcels from multiple carriers in one place. A further 54% become frustrated when they have to visit different locations for deliveries and returns, underscoring the need for carrier-agnostic PUDO points within delivery networks.

“Consumers increasingly seek a single, convenient location to access multiple carriers and services,” said Geoffrey Godet, Quadient CEO. “Our open locker network addresses these needs, creating shared infrastructure that benefits consumers, businesses, logistics providers and host partners.”

As well as providing convenience to customers, the lockers, which are strategically located in high footfall traffic locations in retail destinations, railway stations, petrol forecourts and leisure venues, also help generate additional shopper traffic and sales opportunities.

Quadient’s research shows that 76% of customers visit locations specifically to use a locker, with 27% entering the premises to use additional facilities or services and 82% of those then going on to make a purchase.

“Surpassing 3,000 locations is more than a network milestone; it marks a fundamental shift in how people manage deliveries, returns and everyday services,” Godet added.

Having recently expanded its partnership with Morrisons, deploying lockers in 500 additional supermarkets nationwide, Quadient remains on track to deploy 40,000 lockers globally by 2030.
