Foldable bicycle brand, Brompton, has teamed up with Commerce, rolling out a new portal to enhance ordering experiences for its wholesale network of independent retailers.

Launching its Brompton Partner Portal on BigCommerce B2B Edition, the system runs on the same BigCommerce instance and product catalogue that powers the company’s Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) business.

With wholesale now accounting for ~75% of the bike company’s total sales across over 1,000 retail partners worldwide, the move will modernise buying experiences for its network of independent retailers, from search to order.

Replacing a decade-old bespoke platform, the portal provides richer product experiences, with clearer imagery, improved product information and curated catalogues. This makes it easier for wholesale partners to understand and access the full Brompton range, as well as providing a more scalable foundation for future growth.

“Our retail partners are central to Brompton’s success,” said Oliver Boardman, CTO at Brompton. “The new Partner Portal gives them a modern, intuitive way to explore our product range, place orders and access the information they need to support our joint customers.”

“This investment is about making it easier for our partners to do business with Brompton and grow alongside us,” he added.

“For years, manufacturers put their digital investment into DTC while their dealers made do with ordering tools no shopper would tolerate,” said Lance Owide, VP of B2B product management at Commerce. “That gap is common across manufacturing, but it’s closing fast. Brompton deserves credit for recognising the need to serve consumers and partners from one platform, one catalogue and one team.”

The Partner Portal is already live in Germany and Austria, with further rollout to wider European markets and the UK set to follow this month. It is also conducting additional localisation on the portal for the U.S., Japan, China and Singapore, which is expected to be completed by Spring 2027.
