Out of home (OOH) delivery software provider, HubBox, has signed a multi-year agreement with UPS, becoming the checkout integration partner for UPS’ Access Point deliveries in North America.
The UPS Access Point network, which spans The UPS Store, several major U.S. retailers including CVS and Staples as well as local small businesses, gives shoppers the option for secure, convenient alternatives to home delivery.
The partnership comes as porch piracy is growing in North America – last year an estimated 228million packages were stolen from customers’ door steps, with retailers losing $7.9billion as a result through replacing or refunding orders. This is placing a growing emphasis on offering more secure pick-up, drop-off (PUDO) locations.
“This collaboration reflects what’s possible when a world-class carrier network is combined with best-in-class OOH shipping software,” said Sam Jarvis, CEO of HubBox. “Together, we’re making it easier for U.S. retailers to offer UPS Access Points at checkout and offer more flexible, convenient delivery experiences.”
Commenting on LinkedIn, Jarvis added: “For a long time, OOH was viewed in the U.S. as a “nice-to-have”… Today’s reality is different: secure delivery has officially become a customer retention strategy.”
Last year, as OOH delivery continues to win favour with shoppers, HubBox secured £6million in a funding round led by Puma Growth Partners to bolster global expansion. It has also signed recent partnership deals with DHL Ecommerce UK and PostNord as it further expands its PUDO network.
