The East of England Co-op has reintroduced its Snappy Shopper rapid-delivery service, reflecting a renewed focus on providing greater accessibility and flexibility for its customers and members.
Under the new partnership, Snappy Shopper orders will be fulfilled through a technical agreement with Nash, the AI infrastructure for logistics, which will coordinate deliveries on behalf of the Co-op using courier partners including Stuart, Uber Direct and Just Eat Go.
Nash is also the delivery experience partner behind Morrisons’ recently launched rapid-delivery service, Morrisons Now.
The Co-op says this approach provides a more scalable, sustainable and efficient delivery model, allowing the retailer to expand its reach without the need to operate its own delivery vehicles.
Chief Commercial Officer for the East of England Co-op, Simon Dryell said: “Convenience is at the heart of what we do, and this relaunch enables us to provide a seamless, flexible service while making the most of new technology and delivery partnerships.
We know many of our members and customers loved using Snappy Shopper before and we’re excited to reintroduce the service in a way that’s even better suited to their needs today.”
Consumer research from IGD found the majority (69%) of shoppers who use quick commerce do so for need-based, “food-for-now” missions.
The service restarted last week and is now available in five pilot stores: Barking Road and Rushmere in Suffolk, Earls Colne and Mersea Road in Essex and Costessey in Norfolk.
