Superdrug has confirmed it will open 30 new stores in 2026, extending its UK footprint to meet strong customer demand for “experience-led” physical retail.

Reflecting the health and beauty retailer’s nationwide growth plans and its continued investment into its bricks-and-mortar estate, the move is designed to elevate discovery and engagement, with a focus on larger format destination stores and retail park locations.

It will also support Superdrug’s O+O (Offline plus Online) strategy, which aims to deliver more seamless omnichannel experiences.

“Superdrug continues to see strong demand for physical, experience-led retail,” said Clare Jennings, Property Director at Superdrug. “We’re not just increasing our footprint, we’re creating destinations that bring together beauty, healthcare and affordable treatments.”

Designed to deliver immerse experiences that help boost product and brand discovery, the new stores will also offer shoppers access to health and beauty experts and affordable in-store services.

“Our customers want more than convenience, they want expertise, products and services they can trust, delivered in welcoming spaces within their local communities,” Jennings added.

With confirmed openings on new sites from Dundee to Leeds and Crawley to the Isle of Wight, it is understood the raft of new stores will create ~600 new jobs across the UK.

Last year, Superdrug announced the opening of several ‘Beauty Playgrounds’. The concept aimed to offer shopping destinations that go beyond transactional experiences, acting as a hub for beauty discovery, brand exploration and value-add services.
