Lidl GB has committed a further £29million investment in colleague pay – the seventh pay rise announcement made by the discounter since 2023 – making it the UK’s highest paying supermarket.
Benefitting 35,000 colleagues across the country, from 01 Mar 2026, entry-level hourly pay will rise to £13.45 nationally, with London brackets slightly higher between £14.35 – £14.80 per hour.
“Our colleagues are the backbone of our business, and their success is our success,” Stephanie Rogers, Chief People Officer at Lidl GB, commented. “This is why I couldn’t be prouder that we’re able to offer the highest wages in the industry to reward our colleagues for their incredible work.”
Off the back of record festive trading, when Lidl posted a +10% year-on-year sales rise, with turnover exceeding £1.1billion in the month to Christmas Eve, the discounter continues to expand its UK store network.
As the business continues to grow, it said rewarding colleagues remains central to its approach, recognising that its growth plans depend on the dedication of those who deliver every day.
