Penny Petroleum, operator of 99 UK petrol stations with convenience retail, is rolling out a pilot of Forecourt Eye’s crime prevention and debt recovery platform across six sites, ahead of a potential nationwide deployment.

The solution combines ANPR-based crime prevention, algorithmic debt recovery, and real-time EPOS connectivity into a single operational platform designed to help combat fuel crime, margin erosion, and regulatory compliance.

“We operate 99 sites serving communities across the UK, and we take our responsibility to protect our business, our staff and our customers extremely seriously,” said Tony Jackson, Chief Commercial Officer at Penny Petroleum.

Jackson said this initial trial will evaluate the platform in real-world conditions, focusing on real-time ANPR crime prevention and integrating Forecourt Eye’s database of 250,000 registrations linked to fuel crime with DVLA data to provide warnings before high-risk vehicles refuel.

Beyond crime prevention, the platform delivers audit-trail compliance, revenue recovery from historically unreported incidents, and the ability to contribute offender intelligence back into the national database.

Michelle Henchoz, Managing Director at Forecourt Eye, said: “With coverage across almost 22% of UK fuel sites and a decade of operational data, we’ve built what is now widely recognised as the most comprehensive crime prevention and loss-recovery platform available to the sector. This trial will demonstrate how that capability translates into measurable operational and financial impact.”
