B&Q TradePoint, the home improvement retailer’s trade brand, will open its first standalone store in Barking, London, in March 2026.
The new store concept, with a 32,000 sq ft. sales area, has been designed for trade professionals and the launch is part of B&Q TradePoint’s broader strategy of creating a £1bn trade business.
TradePoint has consistently grown in recent years and in H1 2025 like-for-like sales were up 6.9% and TradePoint accounted for 22.4% of B&Q’s total sales.
The new concept store offers over 5,500 items, including tools and materials, for jobs ranging from building, plumbing, electrical, and garden landscaping, to plastering, tiling, flooring, decorating and kitchen and bathroom fitting.
Customers will also have access to an extended range of more than 25,000 products available for store collection or delivery to site, including an expanded range of trade brands. Services, including two timber saws and a paint mixing desk, will also be available within the Barking store.
The stand-alone store will offer extended opening hours (from 6am on Mondays to Saturdays and for six hours on Sundays) and will include a range of collection and delivery fulfilment options, including ‘same day delivery’ service within as little as two hours, ‘load and go’ same day car park collection, click and collect in as little as 15 minutes, and next day bulk delivery.
Trade-expert store colleagues and Trade Business Development Managers will be on hand for TradePoint members to place orders either in person in-store or by phone, as well as online at trade-point.co.uk and via the TradePoint app.
“Growing TradePoint is a strategic priority for B&Q and we’re proud to be launching this new standalone B&Q TradePoint store concept to help make life easier for tradespeople and to help them grow their businesses. Understanding the needs of tradespeople has been crucial and as a result, reliability, speed, product availability, competitive pricing and extended hours are all key elements of our new TradePoint proposition,” said Graham Bell, CEO of B&Q.
B&Q TradePoint was launched in 2011 for trade professionals and offers exclusive membership to those in a range of trades including electricians, plasterers, fitters and plumbers. It currently has 1.5 million active TradePoint members.
