Following a surge in on-demand orders on Christmas Eve last year, Boots has extended its rapid delivery service to 500 stores across the UK.
Working with delivery partners Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat, Boots’ customers can receive their orders in as little as 30 minutes. In select locations, shoppers can place orders until midnight on Christmas Eve and still receive their shopping ahead of Christmas Day.
“We all know Christmas is a busy time, so we want to make it even easier for our customers who find themselves shopping right up to the last moment,” said Paula Bobbett, Chief Data and Digital Officer at Boots. She added the on-demand service would “change that final dash into an easy delivery” as it looks to “make shopping feel joyful, not stressful.” It will help shoppers “find thoughtful gifts quickly and easily, even if they’ve missed online order cut-offs or store opening hours,” she said.
Research from Boots, based on a survey of more than 2,000 UK shoppers, found that over half (56%) leave their Christmas shopping until the very last day. Almost a third of working people (31%) said they lack time to shop, while 23% said working hours get in the way.
Last minute shoppers can choose from more than 10,000 products via Boots on-demand, including over 1,600 Christmas gifts available. Orders can be placed up until Mon 22 Dec 2025 for Click & Collect, and until 23 Dec 2025 for next-day home delivery, with on-demand delivery is available right up until Christmas Eve.
