Deliveroo says it has become the first delivery platform to roll out Nectar, allowing Nectar members to collect points when they shop with Sainsbury’s through its platform.
The move comes as loyalty becomes further embedded within customers shopping habits; now 97% of UK shoppers are signed up to at least one loyalty scheme, as consumers seek ways to unlock more from their money when they shop.
Customers can now link their Nectar and Deliveroo accounts to collect points when placing Sainsbury’s orders for eligible products through Deliveroo.
“We are delighted to be welcoming Nectar, one of the UK’s most valued and far-reaching loyalty schemes, to Deliveroo,” said Suzy McClintock, VP of New Verticals at Deliveroo. “This integration is a massive win for our customers, who can now earn points on their Sainsbury’s grocery orders, further establishing Deliveroo as the go-to destination for on-demand convenience and loyalty.”
Sainsbury’s first partnered with Deliveroo in 2021 joining with just under 300 sites. In less than five years, the partnership has quadrupled to now include over 1,000 sites.
