One of Scandinavia’s largest fashion retailers, Varner, has enabled store staff to deliver flexible, personalised shopping experiences, deploying a Point of Sale (POS) solution from Sitoo, the leading POS and Unified Commerce platform, across its store network.
Fashion group Varner operates over 1,100 stores and employs ~8,550 people within the region. As well as its family of owned Scandi brands, Dressmann, Bik Bok, Carlings, Junkyard, Cubus and Volt, Varner also runs ~50 Levi’s stores across the Nordics. Its mission is to become Scandinavia’s leading data and tech-driven fashion company by driving innovation that enhances customer experience (CX).
Rolling out Sitoo’s POS for Android on Zebra Technologies’ handheld, mobile devices across its store network, associates can deliver the seamless shopping experiences which power store performance and drive loyalty – anywhere in the store.
Best-in-class omnichannel experiences
As part of its ongoing aim to elevate CX, Varner wanted to connect its stores, colleagues and customers through real-time data to deliver best-in-class shopping experiences.
By putting Sitoo’s POS directly in the hands of its staff, Varner has transformed how its team works on the shop floor. Instead of being tied to fixed tills, staff can move freely – checking stock, completing purchases or helping with Click & Collect orders, all from handheld, mobile devices.
And, with access to real-time product and customer data at their fingertips – including previous purchases and loyalty membership details – staff can enhance CX even further with personalised offers.
Product & customer data at store associates’ fingertips
This has been well received by Varner’s customers, with 93% now confident completing mobile payments anywhere in the store, while internal feedback showed rapid adoption by store staff, with 89% rating Sitoo as highly user-friendly.
Over two thirds (68%) of associates now frequently use Sitoo to check product information, while 32% use it to look up customer memberships.
“The positive feedback from our stores has been incredibly encouraging,” said Henning Fladland, Product Manager at Varner.
“Our staff adapted to the mobile POS quickly, which was crucial as the rollout occurred during a peak period. The future-proof nature of Sitoo means we can continually enhance our operations, stay ahead of industry trends and meet evolving customer expectations.”

“With Sitoo, we know we can be part of the future in retail. Whether it’s self-checkout or using mobile devices on the shop floor, the technology is designed to enhance the shopping experience and make everything smoother,” added Rikke Breivik Vogt, Regional Manager at Varner-owned brand, Bik Bok.
“Varner has turned its stores into places where great service comes naturally,” says Jens Levin, CEO and Co-founder of Sitoo.
“With Sitoo running on mobile devices, store teams have everything they need right in their hands – the freedom to move, the knowledge to help and the tools and information they need to help customers – anywhere, anytime.”
