
Topps Tiles has deployed Cegid’s retail operations platform across all 297 of its UK stores, improving visibility, consistency and engagement in store execution.
The platform, which went live in early 2025, enables Topps Tiles’ Head Office and Area Managers to monitor merchandising compliance, streamline store communication and improve execution during key promotional periods.
Before deployment, ensuring product promotions were executed consistently across the estate was a manual and time-intensive process, with Head Office relying on Excel spreadsheets and having limited visibility between Area Manager visits.
“Some stores were fantastic at bringing promotions to life, while others needed more support,” said Sarah Kite, Retail Support Manager at Topps Tiles. “We couldn’t see in real time what was happening on the shop floor, and our reporting process was incredibly time-consuming. Now, with Cegid, we can see what’s working and share best practice across the business.”
By digitising task management, photo validation and compliance reporting, the platform gives store teams an app-based way to demonstrate merchandising execution, while giving managers instant oversight.
The result, Kite said, has been “one of the smoothest launches we’ve ever had”, freeing managers to spend more time supporting teams rather than chasing updates and spreadsheets.
The technology has already helped Topps Tiles drive stronger performance during peak trading periods such as Easter and autumn, with Area Managers now focusing more on sales and less on admin.
Following a successful pilot in a group of Welsh stores, the nationwide rollout was completed earlier this year. Topps Tiles now plans to expand its use of the platform beyond task management to include advanced reporting and internal communications via the in-app newsfeed. The system will also support the integration of 30 newly acquired CTD (Ceramic Tile Distributors) stores.
“Although we started small to make sure everything was perfect, the system’s potential is huge,” Kite added. “It’s already helping us deliver a consistent brand experience wherever our customers shop.”
