Global beauty and skincare brand, The Body Shop, will work with unified supply chain and retail planning solution provider, RELEX, to optimise its global supply chain.
It will leverage forecasting and replenishment solutions from RELEX to enhance inventory management and improve operational efficiencies across its global stores, franchises and distribution centres.
Founded in 1976 in Brighton, The Body Shop is a trusted pioneer in ethical wellbeing, offering high quality, innovation-driven skincare, body care, hair and make-up products. With beauty ranges made from naturally inspired and Fair Trade ingredients, it now operates in over 80 markets internationally across almost 2,000 retail stores.
Previously, the ethical beauty brand was hindered by legacy ERP systems and manual processes, which left it unable to continuously deliver outputs at the required pace. Working with RELEX, as part of its “ambition to become an AI & data-first beauty company,” it will use AI to build a leaner, more resilient supply chain.
“By embedding advanced forecasting and replenishment capabilities, we shift from reactive operations to predictive intelligence, building a supply chain that is agile [and] resilient.” said Hitesh Amin, CTO at The Body Shop. “This partnership allows us to focus [on] serving our customers, empowering franchise partners and driving purposeful, sustainable growth.”
It will also use RELEX to reduce waste within its operations, which Amin said “lies at the heart” of its ethos and aligns with its brand mission of sustainable and ethical trading.
“The Body Shop has long been a pioneer in ethical beauty and prides itself on its commitment to smaller suppliers, fostering an ecosystem of equality and opportunity,” Johanna Småros, Co-Founder & Chief Sustainability Officer at RELEX, added. “We are eager to support this endeavour and enable The Body Shop to reduce waste, improve operational agility and continue to uplift small suppliers and partners.”
