L’Oreal’s AI-powered beauty marketplace, Noli, will leverage a Product Information Management (PIM) solution from Akeneo to power its product recommendations engine.

The solution will enable Noli to hyper-personalise product suggestions to meet the unique beauty and skincare needs of each customer, putting the shopper front and centre of the buying experience.

Noli, which is short for ‘No one like I’, uses AI within its multi-brand beauty platform to let customers unlock individual skin and haircare routines from a library of 200,000+ product combinations.

Using a quiz, which draws on insights from top dermatologists and advanced face-scan tech, Noli creates an individual BeautyDNA profile for each shopper. It then curates a personalised routine for a customer’s specific skincare goals, removing the guesswork – and endless scrolling – from product discovery.

And this requires accurate, complete and ordered product data. All the ingredients, suitability and efficacy of each product must be understood, categorised and tagged correctly to match product suggestions with each customer’s BeautyDNA profile. 

Akeneo’s PIM has created a single source of consistent product data across Noli’s ranges. This means every product attribute, description and specification are accurate and correctly structured, which enables the AI to serve hyper-personalised recommendations. 

Native AI within the Akeneo PIM also automatically enriches product attributes and auto-completes missing information, while Gen AI functionality helps create detailed product descriptions in line with Noli’s brand voice.
