Frozen food retailer, Iceland Foods, has partnered with last-mile specialist Stuart to extend its in-store home delivery service, giving customers the ability to shop and schedule same-day delivery within a two-hour time slot.
This new service gives customers flexibility, enabling access to the full range of Iceland’s products in-store, and removing the inconvenience of carrying heavy shopping home on public transport, worrying about frozen products melting or having to cut their high street visit short.
Following a trial in nine stores, Iceland will now extend the service to over 100 locations nationwide. The partnership leverages Stuart’s sustainable delivery network, with more than half of all orders fulfilled using low-emission vehicles operated by its courier partners.
“We’re excited to be partnering with a leading brand such as Iceland to introduce innovative and sustainable delivery options that meet the evolving expectations of today’s shoppers. The scheduled in-store, same-day delivery service offers new levels of convenience to Iceland customers while maintaining the quality and choice they expect from in-store shopping.”
Ricardo Amorim, Chief Revenue Officer, Stuart.
An Iceland Foods spokesperson said: “This new partnership with Stuart will bolster our existing in-store home delivery service, which has been a staple of the Iceland shopping experience for many years. With more slots available for customers, our same-day delivery service will make shopping in-store more convenient than ever before.”
Earlier this year, Iceland confirmed it had extended its partnership with Olio, after a food waste reduction pilot saved 7million meals from being wasted, supporting the retailer’s efforts to cut food waste while offering shoppers affordable produce.
