Currys will partner with Solum and Vestcom to roll out Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs) to its stores across the UK and Ireland to enhance in-store CX while freeing up store staff to focus on customer service-focused activities.

The ESL solution is already available in over 150 Currys stores – and has already had a positive impact on conversions in ‘live’ stores – with full deployment across the entire estate expected by 13 Nov 2025.

With Solum providing the ESLs and Vestcom taking the lead on data-integration and software, the move is part of Currys’ ongoing commitment to supporting its colleagues in their day-to-day roles, while making it easier for customers to shop for tech.

The ESLs will power dynamic digital displays, providing shoppers with real-time pricing, which is accurate and consistent across all channels, and clearer product information. The e-labels will also allow customers to scan a QR code to find out more information, making it easy and convenient to compare, choose and buy the right tech when considering purchases at the shelf-edge.

With pricing and product information updated digitally, store associates are freed from the manual and labour intensive task of replacing paper price tags, allowing them to spend more time serving customers and solving shopper queries on which tech to choose.

“Rolling out digital ticketing across our stores is more than a tech upgrade, it’s a commitment to our customers and colleagues,” said Lindsay Haselhurst, COO at Currys.

“By delivering real-time pricing and clearer product information, we’re making shopping for customers simpler and smarter. And, by removing the burden of manual labelling, we’re giving store teams more time to do what they love: helping customers enjoy amazing technology.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with Currys, marking a significant step in expanding our presence in the UK’s premium electronics market,” Mark Duckworth, Country Manager UK&I at Solum, commented. “Together, we look forward to driving digital transformation and enhancing the retail experience across the UK and beyond.”

“We’re pleased to support Currys by enabling a hybrid shelf-edge strategy that best meets the needs of shoppers, colleagues and the business – integrating new technology where it is best served,” Ned Peverley, VP and GM at Vestcom, added.
