Inventory and demand forecasting software provider, Merchmix, has launched an agentic SaaS retail platform, which leverages AI to autonomously optimise stock, helping retailers improve product availability and reduce costly out-of-stocks and overstocking.
Inventory inefficiencies not only erode CX and margins but, according to IHL Group, also cost retailers an estimated $1.7trillion last year.
The Merchmix platform uses AI to ingest data from 200+ external sources, including sales, weather, pricing and social signals. This insight is then used to create agentic workflows for stock optimisation, unifying inventory data on one intelligent platform, which removes silos between retail teams.
Data from the central platform offers planners, buyers, merchandisers and store operations teams live trading intelligence, helping to improve real-time decision-making.
“We’ve built the colleague every retailer wishes they had – one who never sleeps, knows the data inside-out and helps you make the right call to protect margin and growth, whether you’re a buyer, merchandiser or store manager,” said Nicola Bond, Co-Founder & CEO of Merchmix.
For buyers and planners, the solution offers SKU-level buying recommendations, helping to keep best-selling items in stock without overbuying. Automated replenishment within the platform also ensures optimal product availability so brands avoid missed sales opportunities from shelf-gaps, while an optimisation tool serves live customer flows and sales data to help in-store and VM teams optimise merchandising.
“Merchmix gives everyone the same facts, and turns data into action so teams can focus on trading, not chasing spreadsheets,” added its Co-Founder and COO, Gemma Mowser.
