Central Co-op, Lincolnshire Co-op and Midcounties Co-op have all deployed SymphonyAI‘s Connected Retail platform to modernise their operations, localise assortments and enhance customer experiences across 700+ stores, which serve over 1.3million shoppers.
Amid rising operating costs, fast-paced consumer demand shifts and the increasing need for hyper-local precision, the three regional co-operatives are now using generative and predictive AI to make faster, more informed decisions.
SymphonyAI’s platform delivers real-time intelligence across inventory management, shelf execution and supply chain operations, helping to drive efficiency, reduce waste and create more compelling and relevant in-store experiences for shoppers.
“With SymphonyAI’s range and space planning, we can quickly adjust our assortments to meet changing member-shopper preferences.” said Jacob Isherwood, CIO of Midcounties Co-op.
Midcounties Co-op is also using the solution to streamline workflows for retail in-store staff, freeing them from repetitive manual tasks to focus on customer service delivery initiatives. Isherwood explained the solution automates labour-intensive tasks “to allow our teams to focus on delivering exceptional service.”
Meanwhile, Lincolnshire Co-op is leveraging the Connected Retail platform to improve product availability and reduce waste. Steve Leach, COO of Lincolnshire Co-op said its “priority is to keep shelves stocked with the right products, reduce waste and minimise overhead costs. He added that “with SymphonyAI’s platform, we’re able to enhance operational efficiency and meet the evolving needs of our shoppers.”
“As a member-owned business, our shoppers’ needs and preferences take top priority,” said Selina Butterfield-Mashoofi, CFO & CTO of Central Co-op, which is also using the solution to drive up product availability and reduce out-of-stocks. “With SymphonyAI’s Connected Retail platform, we have seamlessly integrated operations, ensuring shoppers are presented with the optimum range and high on-shelf availability,” she added.
“AI — especially generative AI — is at the heart of retailers unlock new value,” said Manish Choudhary, President, Symphony Retail CPG. “Our platform empowers real-time, intelligent decision-making that goes beyond automation. It transforms complexity into opportunity — with measurable results for both retailers and shoppers.”
