Parcel delivery company, Evri, has teamed up with second-hand marketplace, Vinted, to offer free reusable packaging for customers at selected Evri ParcelShops, to encourage more sustainable practices in pre-loved fashion.
Now live in over 100 UK ParcelShops, the trial aims to give Vinted users quick, free and greener reusable options when sending pre-loved parcels, and is expected to expand to nearly 300 locations during the pilot.
The packaging, which will be stocked at Evri ParcelShops, fits medium-sized Vinted parcels. Encouraging further re-use, the packaging features two adhesive strips, allowing senders and recipients to reuse them again for further shipments.
“We are committed to doing all we can to make it even easier for our members to shop second-hand,” said Vytautas Atkočaitis, VP of Vinted Go. “By collaborating to provide free and reusable packaging, we hope to encourage members to opt for packaging that is suitable for repeat use.”
“We’re thrilled to be the first UK delivery carrier to be able to support Vinted’s trial of reusable packaging,” Claire Phelan, Head of Ecommerce Partnerships at Evri, commented. “It provides their army of sellers with an efficient and reusable solution by which to send their parcels.”
Phelan said Evri estimated it would issue over 100K units of Vinted’s reusable free packaging during the trial.
The pilot follows a four-year deal extension between Evri and Vinted, announced earlier in July, as consumer demand for pre-loved clothing continues to grow.
Evri’s data showed that in 2024 almost 30million UK consumers shopped for pre-loved items online. Meanwhile, Vinted’s Impact Report revealed that two thirds (65%) of its members’ wardrobes are made of a quarter of pre-owned items, highlighting the continued demand for greener fashion and desire to consume more sustainably.
