Parcel locker location specialists LockerQuest have launched a partnership with Shift Collect to bring their multi-retailer parcel lockers to sites across the UK.

Shift Collect’s parcel lockers are specifically designed to accommodate large and bulky items, targeted at major retailers such as IKEA, to provide collection points for furniture, home improvement products, and other large items.

LockerQuest’s partnership with Shift Collect has facilitated the installation of parcel lockers across five sites, including Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) train stations and NCP car park locations, with additional installations planned in the coming months.

“Our partnership with Shift Collect represents an exciting development in the large item delivery solutions space. Shift’s specialised parcel lockers for bulky items address a real consumer pain point – the inconvenience of waiting at home for delivery of items including furniture and other bulky items.”

Jonathan White, CEO, LockerQuest

White says the partnership is helping meet the needs of both its space and retail partners who deal with larger items that traditional parcel lockers cannot accommodate.

As reported on Retail Rewired, over 115million retail parcels were delivered or returned via UK lockers in the last 12 months as demand for convenience sees out-of-home delivery adoption soar.

James Moore, CEO at Shift Platform – the company behind Shift Collect commented: “Working with LockerQuest has enabled us to expand our network into prime locations that serve thousands of consumers daily. Their expertise in site selection and management has been invaluable in identifying the optimal locations for our large item parcel lockers.”

Shift Collect’s lockers allow shoppers to access their orders at their convenience utilising AI powered delivery via their mobile app with real time tracking.

This latest collaboration adds to LockerQuest’s growing portfolio of partnerships, which includes established relationships with YEEP!, Amazon, and Thinventory, with the business having installed more than 1,150 lockers to date across the UK.
