Waitrose will roll out a subscription service for online grocery deliveries for orders made across Waitrose.com or via its the app following a successful pilot of its Waitrose Delivery Pass.
The pass allows customers to book up to one available grocery delivery slot per day at no additional cost, with the option to choose one, six or 12-month subscriptions for free fulfilment. Waitrose estimates that the annual pass will save a customer booking one individual delivery per week up to £123 per year.
“We’re investing in our online business to continuously improve it, giving our customers even greater value and the best possible experience,” Laura Burbedge, Director of Waitrose Online, said. “Thousands of customers signed up for Delivery Passes through our trial, so we expect to see strong demand across the UK as we roll it out.”
The Waitrose Delivery Pass also gives customers early access to Waitrose’s Christmas delivery slots, which go live in September.
