The Range has teamed up with Quadient to roll out smart lockers, offering customers convenient and secure out-of-home (OOH) delivery locations across its UK stores.
The Parcel Pending by Quadient smart lockers have already started to be deployed across the retailer’s stores, including London, Birmingham, Swansea and Blackburn locations. The move aims to deliver convenient, secure and accessible parcel services to customers, supporting growing demand for flexible fulfilment.
The lockers, which are carrier-agnostic, provide an open infrastructure that enables secure, centralised 24/7 access for deliveries and returns. Beyond deliveries, the lockers also support other services, acting as a temporary storage facility for prescription collections, click-and-collect, spare parts retrieval and key handovers.
“We’re always looking for new ways to enhance our customers’ shopping experience, be it launching click and collect at The Range stores nationwide in as little as one hour or increasing our offering with the incorporation of garden centres by Homebase,” said a spokesperson for The Range.
“Partnering with Quadient enables us to offer even greater convenience by making it simple for shoppers to collect and return parcels to their own schedule. We look forward to incorporating this into our wider store estate amid other transformational projects, all which aim to help customers get great value home and garden products as easily as possible,” The Range’s spokesperson added.
“Partnering with The Range is a big step forward for us, not just in terms of scale, but in how we bring real convenience to people’s everyday lives,” Katia Bourgeais-Crémel, EVP Parcel Locker Solutions Europe at Quadient, commented.
“Beyond technology, it’s about creating everyday solutions that genuinely fit into people’s lives and make things simpler. The Range understands its customers deeply, and that makes them an ideal partner as we grow our open locker network,” said Bourgeais-Crémel.
This partnership with The Range underlines Quadient’s commitment to expanding its UK locker footprint, aiming to grow its network of OOH delivery locations to 5,000 nationwide by 2027.
