Parcel fulfilment company Evri has announced it will invest over £50million as part of its plans to significantly expand its Out Of Home (OOH) delivery network.
As consumer demand for OOH delivery continues to soar – rising 500% year-on-year according to Evri – driven by shoppers seeking fast, convenient and cost-effective delivery options, it aims to double its network of ParcelShops and lockers to 25,000 by 2030.
Evri already has a network of 10,000+ ParcelShops and lockers, which includes an independent shop network, Post Office branches and retail partners, such as Co-op. The investment in its delivery network will see it grow ParcelShop and locker locations, aiming to reach the 2,000 locker milestone before Christmas 2025, supporting retailers’ Peak Trading operations.
“We are committed to offering greater delivery choices for the consumers, retail clients and businesses that we serve,” Martijn de Lange, CEO of Evri, said. “Our expanding network of locations is shaping the future of parcel delivery in the UK with smart technology and greater accessibility.”
All lockers in the Evri network will be available 24/7 and will include label printers, drop boxes and parcel detection sensors. It also said that customers would benefit from “best-in-class user experience” with the option for a completely contactless experience through geo-based Near Field Communication (NFC).
Evri will also allow users to check locker availability pre-arrival to ensure there is space for their parcel before setting off, to ensure no wasted journeys when dropping off or collecting orders.
