Father’s Day delivered a +10% year-on-year revenue boost for The Perfume Shop, which sold a record 248,142 bottles of fragrance in the two weeks to 15 June 2025.

While the majority (69%) of its sales in the two weeks prior to Father’s Day (15 June 2025) took place in-store – a rise of +9% compared to 2024 – ecommerce sales saw a marked increase, growing +13% year-on-year, accounting for 31% of revenue. In addition, the retailer reported average spend per customer also increased, rising +2% compared to last year to £66.99.

“Perfume remains a timeless gift for Father’s Day and 2025 was no exception,” said Andrea Rickard, Trading Director at The Perfume Shop.

“We’ve also seen a growing number of consumers opting to make gifts even more meaningful through our engraving and personalised ribbon services,” Rickard added. “These small touches go a long way in turning a great gift into something truly special and unique.

GlobalData figures anticipated that UK Father’s Day spending would top £1.12million this year, with 45% of Brits planning to make a gift purchase. Separate data from Scurri showed UK and global ecommerce order volumes increased +18% compared to 2024 in the week of Father’s Day (09 – 14 June 2025).

And while fragrance saw a Father’s Day boost at The Perfume Shop, data from Checkout.com suggested hobby-related gifting was also a key trend. Purchases of books jumped +29% month-on-month when comparing the first two weeks in June 2025 with the first two weeks in May of this year. Spending on golfing goods also rose +14% during the same period, while subscriptions spending also saw an +8% boost.
