Pizza firm, Domino’s, has partnered with local commerce platform, DoorDash, allowing U.S. customers to order through the DoorDash Marketplace. The partnership will allow Domino’s to reach new customers within North America as it expands its presence on aggregator marketplaces, which it believes could represent a $1billion opportunity.

Founded in 1960, Domino’s Pizza is now the world’s largest pizza company, with more than 21,300 stores in over 90 markets and, in 2024, it topped global retail sales of over $19.1billion.

Aiming to enhance digital and delivery experiences for Domino’s customers, U.S. DoorDash users can order from their local Domino’s store through the DoorDash app. This offers GPS tracking, allowing shoppers to monitor the progress of their pizza delivery, which is fulfilled by dedicated Domino’s drivers. Domino’s orders will be available to subscribers of DashPass, as well as via DoorDash’s delivery subscription programme.

“As brands that are both dedicated to digital ordering excellence, our new partnership with DoorDash brings together the scale of our companies, as we continue to build towards the $1billion opportunity that we believe the aggregator marketplace represents for us,” Joe Jordan, U.S. COO and President at Domino’s, commented.

“The ability to connect seamlessly with DoorDash customers means more sales for Domino’s stores, while efficiently leveraging our brand’s robust delivery network. Tapping into incremental customers, particularly in suburban and rural markets, is a meaningful opportunity for Domino’s, as our brand continues to open stores nationwide.”

President and COO of DoorDash, Prabir Adarkar, added: “Domino’s chose DoorDash for our unmatched scale and reach, helping them serve millions of customers and drive incremental sales. By joining forces, we’re bringing customers a new choice in the rapidly growing pizza category.”

Currently the Domino’s-DoorDash partnership is being piloted in select locations in North America, and it plans to roll-out nationally across the U.S. at the beginning of May, as well as going live in Canada later this year.
