
Sportswear retailer, SportsShoes.com, has racked up 150,000 downloads of its mobile app just six months after launching.
Established in 1982, Bradford-based SportsShoes.com offers customers more than 17,000 products from 150 global running and outdoor brands. From a running perspective these include Asics, Nike, Adidas, Hoka, New Balance and Brooks whilst in terms of outdoor they include Salomon, Montane, Rab and Patagonia.
Having first launched in August 2024, the SportsShoes.com app is part of the £90m-turnover retailer’s strategic expansion plans to enhance its customers’ online retail experience. The app also acts as a platform both for connecting, engaging and serving customers, as well as bringing the wider athlete community together. In the app, customers can access personalised product and uniquely curated content suggestions, as well as offering access to exclusive competitions.
The platform also integrates customer membership options throughout the shopping journey, including the ability for users sync their England Athletics profile with their SportsShoes.com account. This combines customers’ running and fitness data with shopping habits to further personalise retail experiences and tailor content suggestions even further.

The launch of the app forms part of a £4.6m investment SportsShoes.com has made between 2021 and 2024 in its technologies, people, processes and facilities. This ran alongside a replatforming of the retailer’s UK and international website supporting improved levels of personalisation across both product discovery and advice.
